Grange-over-Sands is an Edwardian promenade town on Morecambe Bay, the southern rail gateway to the Lakes. Ornamental gardens, a long mile, and tides that look like a desert at low water. It faces the bay, not a lake, which gives it a different light.
Trains from here run to Lancaster and up to Ulverston; the south lakes are a short drive or bus.
